Joey and Hannah Coons
Joey and Hannah lead Chi Alpha at Ball State University, where they invest deeply in Scripture engagement, discipleship, and student leadership. Joey joined the staff in 2014, and stepped into the director role in 2019. His greatest passion is helping students read the Bible deeply, grow as leaders, and join God’s mission on campus and beyond.
Joey and Hannah met in Chi Alpha in 2013, married in 2017, and now live in Yorktown with their son, Braxton, and their dog, Louie. Their family loves being outdoors, vacationing at Disney World, spending time with extended family, and cheering on the Colts and Pacers. Joey also enjoys writing and playing music, dabbling in woodworking, and reading theology and historical biographies.

Spencer and Brittony Kelly
Spencer and Brittony Kelly met in 2014, married in 2016 and have been on staff since 2017. Spencer graduated from Ball State with his bachelor’s in Music Media Production. Brittony graduated from Grace College with her bachelor’s in Educational Ministries. They’ve been striving to follow God’s call on their lives, which is what led them to commit to serve with Chi Alpha. Both long to tell and teach Jesus to students who are searching for Jesus so that students can fall in love with Jesus for the first time or all over again. Spencer is one of the Worship Directors and Brittony is the XAi Representative for Chi Alpha Ball State.

DiMari and Addi Fennell
DiMari has been on staff with Chi Alpha since graduating from Ball State in the Spring of 2020 with a major in Business Administration and a minor in marketing. During his four years as a student in Chi Alpha, DiMari led a core group, lead worship, and served as president. He hopes to help Ball State and Chi Alpha become a true representation of what the Kingdom of God is.
DiMari loves writing and playing music, playing video games, spending time with his wife, Addi, as well as friends.

Elijah and Emily Thompson
Prior to his time on staff in Chi Alpha, Elijah led a core group his sophomore and junior year, was President his junior and senior year, and a Resource Team Leader his last semester of senior year. Elijah graduated from Ball State University in May of 2025.
Elijah and Emily began dating in 2021 and married in 2024. Elijah enjoys spending time with friends and family, observing plants and animals, gardening, reading, playing sports like pickleball, crafting physical works, and creating digital works.

Isabel Velez
As a student in Chi Alpha, Isabel led a Core Group and later became a Resource Team Leader, providing her peers with biblical resources and support. Isabel graduated from Ball State University in May of 2025 with her B.S. in Business Administration and minors in Economics and Spanish. Isabel is now serving on staff with Ball State Chi Alpha. Some of her hobbies and interests include arts and crafts (like crocheting), athletics (volleyball, softball, swimming, and running), and True Crime.

Anthony Williams
Anthony joined Chi Alpha his freshman year. Throughout his four years committed with Chi Alpha, he sang with the worship team and helped with communion and greeting for the serve team. Anthony graduated from Ball State University in May, 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a minor in Counseling. His hobbies include playing video games, sports, music, and sleep. Anthony’s passion stems from wanting to see the lost be lifetime followers of Jesus.

Landon Heynis
Landon joined Chi Alpha his freshman year. Throughout his time with Chi Alpha, he served on the worship team, playing bass and trumpet. During his sophomore and junior year he led a Core Group and later became a Resource Team Leader for the first semester of his senior year. He graduated from Ball State University in May of 2025 with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. In his free time, Landon likes to play video games, make music, and play disc golf. Landon’s passion is to see college students grow in their faith and to be sent out on mission.

Hannah and Joey met in Chi Alpha in 2013, married in 2017, and now live in Yorktown with their son, Braxton, and their dog, Louie. Their family loves being outdoors, vacationing at Disney World, spending time with extended family, and cheering on the Colts and Pacers.
Addi Fennell
As a Ball State Chi Alpha alum, Addi serves on the worship team, often leading with her husband, DiMari, both at Chi Alpha and their local church. Addi works full time as a First Grade teacher and is deeply involved with her local church.
Addi and DiMari met in 2019, married in 2023, and currently live in Muncie with their dog, Maverick. Addi loves reading, doing paint by numbers, and spending time with family.
Emily Thompson
Emily graduated from Olivet Nazarene University. Since her and Elijah have been married, they now live in Muncie with their shared family dog, Tinkerbell. Emily works as a Pediatric Medical Assistant and is deeply involved in her local church.
Emily loves coffee shops, reading, birding, playing games, and time with the family and friends.
