Joey and Hannah Coons
Joey and Hannah are the campus pastors of Chi Alpha at Ball State University. Joey has served on staff at Chi Alpha since 2014, and loves to minister to college students. Joey met his wife Hannah in Chi Alpha in 2013, and they were married in July 2017. Joey and Hannah enjoy life in Muncie, and love to spend their time discipling college students.

Spencer and Brittony Kelly
Spencer and Brittony Kelly met in 2014, married in 2016 and have been on staff since 2017. Spencer graduated from Ball State with his bachelor’s in Music Media Production. Brittony graduated from Grace College with her bachelor’s in Educational Ministries. They’ve been striving to follow God’s call on their lives and that’s what led them to commit to serve with Chi Alpha. Both long to tell and teach Jesus to students who are searching for Jesus so that students can fall in love with Jesus for the first time or all over again. Spencer is one of the Worship Directors and Brittony is the XAi Representative for Chi Alpha Ball State.

DiMari Fennell
DiMari graduated Ball State in the spring of 2020 with a major in Business Administration and a minor in marketing. He began working with Chi Alpha right after he graduated. In his time at Ball State he spent all 4 years involved in Chi Alpha. In his roles as a core group leader, worship leader, and as well as president. He really found a calling to reach out and help college students find Jesus. DiMari hopes to help Ball State and Chi Alpha to become a true representation of what the Kingdom of God is. In his free time, DiMari enjoys playing video games, relaxing with his dogs, hanging out with his wife and friends , and he loves to grab either his piano or his guitar to write music.

Isabel Velez
Isabel joined Chi Alpha her freshman year of college, where her heart for Jesus and passion to disciple others grew. As a student in Chi Alpha, she led a Core Group and later became a Resource Team Leader, providing her peers with biblical resources and support. Isabel graduated from Ball State University in May of 2025 with her B.S. in Business Administration and minors in Economics and Spanish. Led to pour back into the ministry that greatly impacted her relationship with Jesus, Isabel is now an intern serving with Chi Alpha at Ball State University. Some of her hobbies and interests include arts and crafts (like crocheting), athletics (volleyball, softball, swimming, and running), and True Crime. Isabel hopes to grow and learn more as an intern with Chi Alpha so that she may pour into those around her.

Elijah Thompson
Throughout his four years in Chi Alpha, Elijah became closer to Jesus - getting to know Him on a personal level, though Elijah had been a Christian his whole life. In Chi Alpha, he led a core group his sophomore and junior year, was President for his junior and senior year, and was a Resource Team Leader for his last semester of senior year. Elijah graduated from Ball State University in May of 2025 with a Bachelor of General Studies, and a double Minor in Digital Publishing and Graphic Arts Technology. His hobbies consist of playing games with friends, playing sports like pickleball and volleyball, watching movies, and creating digital works. In his time on staff, Elijah is eager to spend time with Jesus, become more like Him, and reconciling others to Him.

Anthony Williams
Anthony joined Chi Alpha his freshman year. Throughout his four years committed with Chi Alpha, he sang with the worship team and helped with communion and greeting for the serve team. Anthony graduated from Ball State University in May, 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a minor in Counseling. His hobbies include playing video games, sports, music, and sleep. Anthony’s passion stems from wanting to see the lost be lifetime followers of Jesus.

Landon Heynis
Landon joined Chi Alpha his freshman year. Throughout his time with Chi Alpha, he served on the worship team, playing bass and trumpet. During his sophomore and junior year he led a Core Group and later became a Resource Team Leader for the first semester of his senior year. He graduated from Ball State University in May of 2025 with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. In his free time, Landon likes to play video games, make music, and play disc golf. Landon’s passion is to see college students grow in their faith and to be sent out on mission.
